Lucy G
Two short stories here from Lucy. The first one is only 62 words so we can call it micro-fiction yet it is a story with characters, setting and plot. No matter the length, Lucy writes gripping stories without over-describing the drama.
So I'd done it. I can't believe it. They wouldn't let me be with him. We picked up their heavy, lifeless bodies. I didn't regret it; I doubt he did. We dropped them in the deep hole we'd dug in the backyard. I felt satisfied. I stared at their terrified, lifeless faces for the last time. A grin painted across my face.

I sat there, in the rain, watching my little brother and sister playing in their swimmers. It had been raining non-stop for two days and the grass was deep and thick with mud. They didn't seem cold even though it was freezing outside. I stood up and walked inside. Mum and Dad weren't home and the house was silent apart from the rain pelting on the roof. I went to read what the weather would be like for the next few days.
When I sat down, I heard a shriek. I ran out to see what had happened. Laura and Josh were fine so I went
back to the newspaper. I heard it again, this time louder and more desperate. I went upstairs to the veranda. Sitting there watching the raindrops, like pretty shards of glass falling from the clouds. It wasn't going to stop raining for at
least another day and the gutters were filling with water. I could see our house in the reflection. Out of nowhere I heard the scream. It came from right in front of me. I thought I saw seomthing but I couldn't have because I saw it in the reflection of the glass water. My heart stopped. A girl dropped from the top of the roof, her face: blanketed by scars and cuts; her eyes cold and frightened. She tried to grab my hand as she fell and all I felt was a wave of
ice-cold depression move through my whole body from my hand.
