This is a place where writings by members of Hunter Writers Centre are published. Sometimes writers from the community contribute to our story albums, such as Bec and Carol who wrote for the Homelessness Project. If you live in the Hunter you can be part of HunterStorytellers.com
Every year, members of Hunter Writers Centre publish works around a special focus theme - click a year to read the works:
2015 - People living with disability
2016 - Sailing
2017 - Homelessness and 'Olley Poems' publication
2018 - Treasure Tales - Stories by our young writers about our older community members
2019 - Meet the Mob - Stories from the Indigenous community of the Hunter
Hunter Writers Centre is proud to pay writers for their work as we believe artists should be paid for their creativity. Payment to artists is made possible by sales of our anthologies and funding from Create NSW

The Hunter region of NSW is made of many towns and villages and four cities: City of Newcastle (East), City of Maitland (centre), City of Lake Macquarie (South) and City of Cessnock (West). Port Stephens lies to the north and the Hunter Valley defines us. In our region, the world's best chardonnays are produced, champion race horses are bred, beef cattle are fattened, electricity is generated and coal is mined.
